Farm system rankings for 2009.

The first article in the top prospects series is up on ESPN.com; I think the top 10 are free and the remainder is Insider, although I’m not certain.

Tomorrow’s content includes the global top 100, with capsules on each player (averaging 190 words per player); the top 5-10 prospects in each organization; and the top 10 by position. I’ll also be chatting in English at 1 pm EST and in Spanish on ESPNDeportes.com at 4 pm EST.

  1. freetranslation.com, welcome back to my life. I thought we were done after I finished with my Spanish courses

  2. Keith, to links to see 26-50, 51-75, and 76-100 take you to the Top Free Agents list you put out at the end of last season. At least it did a minute ago.

  3. Good stuff Keith; little surprised to see the Giants at 9, as I figured there top 4 alone are as good as anyone (maybe Oakland is better), and that Gillespe, Rodriguez, Noonan, Sosa and co were interesting

Btw, I know you were a big Fairley fan when he was drafted – he’s been slow, but were you encouraged by the plate discipline?

  4. The top prospects list isn’t supposed to be live right now.

  5. I can’t believe Atlanta is so high up after all those trades. Must be a bit bittersweet for Braves fans because they have to think what if…

  6. Oh. Well, I saw 1-25.

  7. Keith, when you say the Cards have three potential star prospects, is the 3rd Perez or Jones?

  8. Keith, do you know if the prospect list is going to be for Insiders as well?

  9. TCM: Top 25 will be free, remainder for Insiders.

Ronaldo: I’ll leave that for the top 5 by organization lists which will come out tomorrow.

  10. It’s a shame … most Hall of Fame Internet Writers average 200 words per player in their top 100, so you’re just short of the magic number. Hopefully the “Most Feared Chatter” label will balance that out for the HOF voters.

  11. Sounds great Keith. Looking forward to it. Great work as always!

  12. Keith, will tomorrow’s chat solely focus on prospects?

  13. I still can’t believe ESPN makes web users pay for content. Is this 2001?

  14. Tommorow’s chat will probably focus on fans complaining that Keith hates their team’s prospects.

  15. Francis Borchardt

Ha! Rich, I think you’ve got it wrong. I think we’re going to be paying much more often for content as this whole internet thing develops. When I was a kid in the early nineties using the internet, I don’t remember paying for anything. I don’t mind what I pay for now because it’s worth it. It’s like a magazine subscription, only cheaper, more convenient, and way more content.

  16. So what you’re saying is today’s chat will feature the same complaining fans mixed in with a few fans making ridiculous trade suggestions, a few KLawbaits, random lit. and food questions, and of course plenty of KLaw’s responding genius. Am I missing anything?
