Chat today.

I’ve got a chat today at 2 pm EDT over at the Four-Letter.

Comments

  1. “…I still have regular dreams about being in finals week and realizing I skipped one of my classes for the entire semester. I have no idea what this means.”

I have that one all the time, too. No, I don’t know what it means either. Good idea having your chat on the day after the deadline btw.

  2. “Ceteris paribus” – nice use of Latin towards the end of the chat; have you studied it, or do you just know the phrase?

  3. “…I still have regular dreams about being in finals week and realizing I skipped one of my classes for the entire semester. I have no idea what this means.”

my wife still has these dreams about high school. talk about strange.

  4. I happen to know that it (the dream) means you are snarky and obviously biased against the Twins.

  5. Ceteris Paribus is a term frequently used in economics.

  6. Yep, I have had that dream in various iterations many times.

I, um, also missed an actual non-dream exam after skipping the class multiple times during the quarter.

  7. I picked up the phrase in economics.

Keith you mentioned a few times in the chat how Niemann’s value was down and it reminded me of a report from a few years ago that Rick Peterson said the Mets were planning on avoiding Rice pitchers in the future due to the damage they saw to Humber’s arm when he got there. Do you think that’s fair given the results of the recently drafted Rice pitchers? Also, have you heard of executives and scouts from other teams feeling the same way?

  9. Keith, i’ve been meaning to ask you where you eat while you are in Bristol. I haven’t found anything great in the area besides Puerto Vallarta in Southington on Queen St.

    Thanks.

  10. Jay, try J.Timothy’s on New Britain Ave. in Plainville. I think Keith mentioned that he enjoys Three Brothers restaurant.

  11. Jay – you could also try Chicken Joint on Main Street in Plainville. They just opened, but they make a pretty good pulled chicken BBQ sandwich. Another pretty decent place is Uncle Sam’s on Middle Street in Bristol (practically right across from ESPN). They make your standard burgers and fries and some decent basic Italian food too (lasagna, ravioli, etc).

  12. “…I still have regular dreams about being in finals week and realizing I skipped one of my classes for the entire semester. I have no idea what this means.”

I have this one about once a month. Can anyone say if it seem less believable when you’re the kind of person who had almost perfect college attendance? I was never really sure if it made a difference.

  13. KLAW, when you mentioned the dream in your chat i was shocked. i thought i was the only one to have it. I seem to have it every other month or so. According to a web site by a doctor from Stanford the dream is about dealing with unfinished business. Later

  14. Francis Quimby

Do you think any team will sign Bonds for the playoff run? Would he fit with any of the contenders?

  15. Keith,

What do you think of Brian Schlitter, whom the Cubs just obtained in exchange for Eyre? He’s got good numbers, but I have the feeling that the good prospects are starters, not relievers, in A-ball.
