Is it us, the punters, who demand this kind of non news news story? Or are we fed it as 4 weeks of Israel pounds Gaza gets too depressing. Or the mainstream liberal conservative back and forth is even less insightful?
Thankfully the child is not named but even so it is depressing anyone thinks holding a 10 year old up as a water cooler discussion topic/ridicule, that we would not miss if it was not reported, is in anyway a correct thing to do.
It certainly seems internet front pages for the likes of Yahoo/MSN/Google/etc think they need lots of stuff like this and faux health surveys/concerns with no scientific backing to pique our interest.
The exact same story ran on MSN.com and for some reason in the “related stories” section at the bottom of it was the tale of an escaped “poop throwing monkey” in the Tampa, FL area. The combination really brightened up my day.
Don’t these kids watch A Christmas Story, or, at least, Mythbusters!
I love how this happened in the town that A Christmas Story was based on…irony anyone? Did they triple dog dare it too?

at least his name wasn’t released…can you imagine a prospective boss googling him as a precautionary check and coming up with that? disaster.
Agreed. Complete disaster that Hammond, IN is considered a suburb of Chicago. It’s not.
