TV, radio.

I’ll be on ESPNEWS today at either 3:40 pm or 4:10 pm EST – just waiting for confirmation. Radio hits today include 12:25 pm on ESPN 1050 in New York, 6:40 pm on ESPN 850 in Cleveland, and on AllNight with guest host Mike Salk some time overnight tonight.

Also, the RSS feed should be working again, finally.

  1. Keith, quick question for you:

Who gets what pick from the Yanks for the CC and AJ signings, and how is it determined?

  2. SA, I might know this.

The Brewers get the Yanks first round pick (remember, since Gerrit Cole didn’t sign last year the Yankees technically had TWO first round picks) and a comp pick. I presume the Blue Jays will get two comp picks, either one in the first round and one in the comp round, or both in the comp round.

Note–the comp round is between the 1st and 2nd round. It’s where Joba Chamberlain and I believe Clay Buchholz also were drafted.

    Hope I helped.

  3. Oh Keith I feel for you. 850 in Cleveland at 6:40 pm???

That means you will be on with Kenny Roda…who is the walking talking stammering yammering definition of a “knob.”

He thinks Eric Wedge is a bad manager because he doesn’t bunt often enough, especially in the playoffs.

    I feel for you…

  4. A picture is worth several words.

    The “Road Man”…Kenny Roda.

    YEE-HOO!

  5. SA / Adam,

I believe Toronto will get the NYY 2nd round pick and a comp pick between rounds 1 and 2 (not two comp picks) — because CC had a higher Elias ranking than AJ. The Yankees will still have a 1st and a 2nd because they didn’t sign either of those picks last season.

  6. yep, wish I could be around for the segment on WKNR 850. Roda is bound to say about 3 things that during any ESPN chat would be fined for Klawbaiting.

  7. John is right. You never get two comp picks for one free agent, Type A or B. Toronto gets the Yanks’ second-rounder plus a comp pick, so in some sense, they get screwed. (Of course, they got the 16th overall pick in 2007 for Frank Catalanotto, so it migt just be evening out.)

Cleveland is with Greg Brinda. I told them I won’t go on with Kenny Roda again.

  8. Thanks for the clarification, guys.

Any dude named Kenny Roda just sounds like bad news. Sounds like a lot of ‘The DH rule is for sissies!’ and ‘Real men don’t take walks!’ garbage.

  9. Thanks, Gents!

I guess two late picks are better than one, considering what JP tends to do with mid-teen picks.

  10. Keith,

Will you be chatting at the four letter word during your usual Thursday slot this week?

Or will they bump you for a 3 hour chat with Ed Werder about the Cowboys players feelings?

  11. Wow. “Four letter word.” I should proofread.

  12. Chuck, maybe it was your subconscious; you were thinking of the Four-Letter, but your mind automatically connected it to four-letter word.

  13. Keith, just curious…How far in advance do you usually schedule these radio spots?

I’m in the car a lot for work and it would be cool to know about them the day before they air.

  14. Kris – usually just a few hours. The two local hits were scheduled this morning. It’s up to the producers, of course.

  15. LOL, nice shot at the Nats. More of those please!

  16. Keith – I’ll try and catch you in a chat with this question, but can you comment on Felix Pie in Chicago? With the signing of Gathright and Pie’s sporadic at best playing time, it seems as if the organization is just about done with him. He gets compared to Corey Patterson a lot, but the minor league performance is night and day. Just wonder if from a scouting perspective, if he’s more of a 4A type of player.

  17. Keith,
Any last-minute gift ideas on international cuisine cookbooks? I know you recommended the Cuisines of Spain earlier, so I’m looking at that in additional to a Chilean/Argentinean/Brazilian cookbook, and I was hoping you have some recommendations for the latter? Thanks!

Also, we went to Raglan Rd here in Orlando last Saturday for about the fifth time since learning about it from one of your chats. Thanks for the recommendation, and I too am obsessed with that bread pudding.

    Thanks,
    Dave
