Randy Pausch died today after a lengthy battle with the cruelest of all cancers, pancreatic cancer. My heart goes out to his wife and three children.

The collected thoughts of sportswriter, bookworm, & food critic Keith Law
I watched the Last Lecture today (linked inside Keith’s link above) and heartily recommend it to everyone. We all know what is truly important but we forget. It’s good to be reminded.
I second Terry’s sentiment. The late professor’s The Last Lecture is worth everyone’s time.
If you have a wsj.com account, I highly recommend reading the last lecture articles too.
“A man’s life is worthless, but for the impact it has on other lives.”
What a wonderful, inspiring 75 minutes, and a tremendous legacy to leave behind.
Thank you for posting this, Keith; I would never have heard of Dr. Pausch, and thus would never have seen that lecture otherwise. I completely agree with Rob, incredibly inspiring. I hope everyone has the chance to watch the video, because you can take so much away from what he says, and what he’s done with his life. Always have fun, always do what you love, and do it with the people you love.
“Don’t bail; the best gold is at the bottom of a barrel of crap.” (Had to include that line, it’s just hilarious)
I just watched FNS from July 14 – Tony Snow’s tribute – and I feel that both Pauch and Snow were kindred spirits. They were kind, friendly, giving men who exemplified the good this world has to offer. Besides dying from cancer, both were joyful, upbeat, optimistic family-men. I guess both these guys earned their promotions.
