I bet people spell it “Kieth” all the time. I get “Brain” a lot. Even friends of mine spell my name like that sometimes. Ugh.
You know what I always wondered – why does the “I before E except after C” rule even exist? It’s not accurate. Our teachers taught us a bogus rule. That’s just “weird”.
And since when has Vance Law’s name carried such an unflattering connotation as do equate to an obvious insult?
The only “bashing” that went on today was stating that Alexei Ramirez isn’t a very good fielder. In 61 games at 2B, he’s 9 fielding runs BELOW average – he’s very nearly cost his team a win with his defense compared to a merely average defender at 2B.

That’s how my nine-year old cousin writes to friends over MSN. I don’t necessarily mean this as an insult to “Stephexander.” I’d guess that he’s 12 years old or younger. Still not good, but more understandable.
On the other hand, if he’s older than 12, . . . yikes.
Hey Keith, saw you were looking for Vegas restaurant recs in today’s chat. Not sure where to post those, but we had a great time at Burger Bar in the Mandalay Bay. Its pretty self explanatory. Not sure what type of burger places you like, but this one is fun in a new-school sort of way (as opposed to JG Mellon in NYC).

You mentioned in today’s chat that you need Vegas Eats recommendations, so, living in Vegas, I thought I’d offer up a few…
– Todd’s Unique Dining — off strip in Henderson on Sunset, wonderful ecelctic neighborhood restuarant with fabulous seafood, steaks and more. Chef Todd Clore was formerly Exec Chef at Ballys on the strip.
– I second Bouchon — just a perfect execution of the French bistro — the Foie Gras is pehnomenal.
– Michael Mina (Bellagio) or Seablue (MGM), both excellent seafood restaurants from the Aqua founder.
– Pampelmousse — off strip in a bad neighborhood but wonderful tranditional French
– Mesa Grill, Caesars — go for lunch, a grat deal.
– Crafsteak, which you mentioned is wonderful for side dishes, but their steaks are actually not among the best in the city -I would choose Prime at Bellagio or Michael’s, the epitome of the classic Vegas steakhouse, formerly at Barbary Coast, now off strip (South of town) at South Point
– Guy Savoy, Caesars — haven’t eaten there yet, obscenely expensive, but supposed to be an amazing experience
-Burger Bar, Mandalay Bay (in the Shops) — wonderful, varied burgers with a selection of about 50 or more toppings, from the regular to the exotic. The Buffalo burger is better than the Kobe, by the way.
– Lawry’s – only if you love Prime Rib, but the best presentation of it you’ll ever find. Just off strip on Flamingo.
That’s a small selection. If any specific type of cuisine, I’d be more than happy to offer up other ideas.
I’m calling “Poe’s Law” on that guy.

Keith, I am an avid reader of your chats and blog on ESPN. Don’t let all these White Sox fans get to you paisan.
Anyway, I live in Las Vegas and you mentioned in your chat that you needed recommendations for places to go eat. I would happy to recommend some good places to go eat. You have my email address so if you want, you can email me, tell me what type of food you like (Italian, Japanese etc etc) and I will give you my best recommendations as a local here. Plus I am from Chicago and I am Italian too so I know good Italian food. Until then, Ciao!

Summary of the chat as it pertains to the White Sox: Keith does not think that Alexi Ramirez is a better ROY candidte than Evan Longoria. Keith does think that Carlos Quentin is an MVP candidate.

Keith, if you’re looking to go all out for Vegas, go to Joel Robuchon….my wife and I went a little more than a month ago and while it was expensive, it was phenomenal.
Also, I’ve heard that you can get some of the best Thai food in the country off of the strip. It’s a place called Lotus of Siam. I didn’t get a chance to go there during my trip, but I’ve heard it’s phenomenal (for dinner, skip the lunch buffet)
Ramirez is rather brutal with the glove. And I am no Sox fan. But I must say, the lad can rake.
