About me

Hi, I’m Keith Law, Senior Baseball Writer at The Athletic, which I joined in January of 2020 after spending thirteen and a half years at ESPN. This site is for my own miscellaneous thoughts and ramblings that don’t fit at The Athletic, including thoughts on food, literature, boardgames, and other media.

Before joining ESPN.com in June of 2006, I spent just over four years as the Special Assistant to the GM of the Toronto Blue Jays, and prior to that had written for Baseball Prospectus. I graduated from Harvard College in 1994, and received an MBA from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon in 1999, earning Beta Gamma Sigma honors at the latter. I live in Delaware, having fled New England after one winter too many, spending a few years in between living in Chandler, Arizona.

I’ve reviewed board games for Paste magazine since 2013, all of which can be found via this index page. I’ve also written about gaming for Vulture and for Ars Technica; about a variety of topics for mental floss; and even once ranked the Orphan Black clones for BBC America.

I also have a free email newsletter to which you can subscribe. On social media, I’m on Facebook, Bluesky, Threads, Instagram, and Spoutible.

Any/all of the links on this website may be affiliate links of which I receive a small commission from sales of certain items, including Amazon Associates and the affiliate programs of iTunes, Bookshop, and Target, but the price is the same for you. (As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.)

I receive many review copies of board games from publishers, and I review those for Paste and sometimes here as well. I do not accept payment from publishers other promotional considerations.
