I did include unsigned draftees on the former list, which is not my typical practice, but with the signing deadline so late this year (and maybe in all future years) I saw more value in this method than in pretending those players didn&#8217;t exist; if someone I ranked doesn\u2019t sign, I&#8217;ll update the rankings with a new player.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over at <em>Paste<\/em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/klaw.me\/3y0t1Ao\">I reviewed Snakesss<\/a>, the new social-deduction\/trivia game from Phil Walker-Harding (designer of Cacao, Gizmos, Silver &amp; Gold, and Imhotep). He should be de-platformed everywhere.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Anti-vaxxers love to claim that vaccine mandates violate &#8220;the Nuremberg Code.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/respectfulinsolence.com\/2021\/07\/20\/the-nuremberg-code-gambit\/\">They&#8217;re wrong, of course<\/a> \u2013 but I&#8217;m sure they understand the power of invoking something related to the Nazi regime.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The <em>Washington Post<\/em> explains how the despotic ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the UAE used the Israeli spyware product Pegasus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/2021\/07\/21\/dubai-princesses-spyware\/\">to track and abduct his own daughter<\/a> after she attempted to flee the country.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>PragerU, the right-wing extremist site that distributes conservative &#8220;educational&#8221; videos online, has been <a href=\"https:\/\/prospect.org\/education\/right-curriculum-how-prageru-infiltrates-schools\/\">pushing its content into schools as well<\/a> through direct outreach to teachers and parents.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An Alabama doctor wrote about patients <a href=\"https:\/\/www.al.com\/news\/2021\/07\/im-sorry-but-its-too-late-alabama-doctor-on-treating-unvaccinated-dying-covid-patients.html?fbclid=IwAR14WOZdxhQKM4zwzZSuiDx0qAyxYWJBH3g2tsGeGGp5Alk3Le5EMAiRZAE&amp;utm_source=pocket_mylist\">begging for the vaccine as they&#8217;re dying of COVID-19<\/a>. Where are the consequences for the politicians \u2013 like Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey, who was quick to sign a bill that banned so-called &#8220;vaccine passports&#8221; just two months ago \u2013 who discouraged vaccinations, or the people spreading misinformation online about the vaccines? It&#8217;s easy to mock the ignorant, but someone had to put the wrong ideas in their heads.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It looks like Southern Republicans in power are belatedly getting religion on vaccines, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/politics\/archive\/2021\/07\/the-south-will-define-americas-covid-19-recovery\/619525\/?utm_source=pocket_mylist\">the threat of an unvaccinated South<\/a> begins to undermine any progress we&#8217;ve made against COVID-19.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The great Dr. Peter Hotez explains <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/biden-battles-a-triple-headed-monster-on-vaccines\">the triple-headed monster<\/a> that President Biden and all pro-vaccination efforts face \u2013 disinformation groups, the money that funds them, and state actors like Russia that help spread anti-vaccine nonsense.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/tech\/tech-news\/anti-vaccine-groups-changing-dance-parties-facebook-avoid-detection-rcna1480?utm_source=pocket_mylist\">anti-vaccine groups on Facebook<\/a> are changing their names and using code to avoid detection and deletion. It&#8217;s good that they&#8217;re on the run, but Facebook has to be willing to continue chasing and removing them. Ben Collins also had a great Twitter thread <a href=\"https:\/\/threader.app\/thread\/1418016654580199427?utm_source=pocket_mylist\">highlighting how the evasion works<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A Trump-supporting vaccine denialist in Massachusetts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rawstory.com\/unvaccinated-trump-supporter\/?utm_source=pocket_mylist\">died of COVID-19<\/a> last week.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Coal miners in Alabama have been on strike for over three months, seeking better pay and improved safety conditions. Why has there been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediamatters.org\/cable-news\/coal-miners-are-strike-alabama-first-time-four-decades-cable-news-silent?utm_source=pocket_mylist\">no media coverage of it<\/a>?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>This may be an unpopular take, but I do not see the point of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/article\/epnqxj\/gender-reveal-wildfire-kill-firefighter?utm_source=pocket_mylist\">putting the couple whose gender-reveal party sparked a deadly wildfire in prison<\/a>. It&#8217;s not going to undo any damage, it&#8217;s not going to bring the firefighter who lost his life trying to stop the fire back, and I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s going to deter future idiots from doing the same thing any more than massive fines would. It&#8217;s a twisted sort of revenge, and just means the state has to incur the cost of keeping the couple in prison (if they&#8217;re convicted and sentenced).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A fundamendalist Christian church in Ireland with a history of spreading anti-Semitic views (e.g., that Jews are manipulating the stock market, and that Jews started the COVID-19 pandemic) has used an Irish law to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/news\/crime-and-law\/cork-activist-questioned-over-allegations-of-harassment-by-christian-fundamentalists-1.4629871\">one of their critics arrested on charges of &#8216;inciting hate&#8217; against them<\/a>.
