The President of the AFL-CIO even sent Scalia a letter in April accusing the Secretary of forsaking the very mission of the department, which was created in 1913 to defend the rights of workers, job seekers, and retirees, not the employers Scalia seeks to protect.<\/li><li>Prevagen is a nutritional supplement \u2013 that should set off alarm bells right there \u2013 that claims it can improve your memory. I&#8217;ve known Jen a long time and I am not the least bit surprised that she would be behind something like this.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/lifestyle\/wellness\/surface-wipes-contamination-covid\/2020\/10\/22\/41c77e28-13c3-11eb-bc10-40b25382f1be_story.html?utm_campaign=wp_post_most&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=newsletter&amp;wpisrc=nl_most&amp;carta-url=https%3A%2F%2Fs2.washingtonpost.com%2Fcar-ln-tr%2F2c46c52%2F5f91b1ca9d2fda0efb5153bb%2F597310259bbc0f1cdcf10170%2F10%2F71%2F451229cd74268c2270418bba8b334b8a\">Stop wiping down your groceries<\/a> and focus on things that actually reduce the chances of transmission, like washing your hands.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediamatters.org\/sinclair-broadcast-group\/sinclair-interview-member-anti-immigration-extremist-group-aired-across\">Sinclair Broadcasting aired an interview with a white nationalist last weekend<\/a>, conducted by anti-vaxxer Sharyl Atkisson.<\/li><li>The editorial board of the <em>Washington Post<\/em> wrote that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/lets-not-mince-words-the-trump-administration-kidnapped-children\/2020\/10\/21\/9edf2e20-13b0-11eb-ba42-ec6a580836ed_story.html?tid=ss_tw\">the Trump administration kidnapped children<\/a>, and we shouldn&#8217;t mince words about it.<\/li><li>The <em>Atlantic<\/em>&#8216;s editorial board <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/politics\/archive\/2020\/10\/atlantics-endorsement-against-donald-trump\/616815\/\">unequivocally endorsed Joe Biden<\/a>, imploring readers to vote out Donald Trump.<\/li><li>Amy Coney Barrett <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salon.com\/2020\/10\/16\/watchdog-group-accuses-amy-coney-barrett-of-unconscionable-cruelty-in-teen-rape-case\/\">overturned a civil court ruling<\/a> in favor of a woman raped by a prison guard in Wisconsin &#8220;because the sexual assaults fell outside of the guard&#8217;s official duties,&#8221; and the watchdog group Accountable.US said such &#8220;unconscionable cruelty&#8221; has no place on the high court.<\/li><li>A professor who worked at Notre Dame says <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/slate.com\/human-interest\/2020\/10\/motherhood-at-notre-dame-catholicism.html\" target=\"_blank\">her experience as a working mother there was very different from Barrett&#8217;s.<\/a> The Catholic university&#8217;s &#8220;pro-life&#8221; policies don&#8217;t extend to reasonable resources or time off for pregnant women or working mothers.<\/li><li>Dr. Craig Spencer was vilified by Trump in 2014 when the director of global health in emergency medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian came home from working with Ebola patients in Guinea with the virus. He hit back at Trump this month <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2020\/oct\/06\/ebola-doctor-trump-vilified-2014-blasts-president-craig-spencer?CMP=share_btn_tw\">over the President&#8217;s irresponsible behavior while infected with COVID-19<\/a>, and called Trump&#8217;s lack of empathy &#8220;the single greatest threat to the American people.&#8221;<\/li><li><em>Scientific American<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/debunking-the-false-claim-that-covid-death-counts-are-inflated\/\">debunks the myth that COVID-19 death counts are inflated<\/a>.<\/li><li>The BBC has a useful primer on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-latin-america-54552921\">Bolivia&#8217;s presidential election<\/a>.<\/li><li>BuzzFeed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buzzfeednews.com\/article\/davidmack\/boston-woman-voting-fenway-dunkies\">tracked down the &#8220;Dunkies&#8221; woman<\/a> who went viral for her emphatic appearance on a local TV station in Boston.<\/li><li>Tony Lewis, lead singer and bassist for The Outfield, <a href=\"https:\/\/consequenceofsound.net\/2020\/10\/tony-lewis-the-outfield-dies\/\">died suddenly this week at 62<\/a>.
