I broke down the draft classes for every team, with\n<a href=\"https:\/\/klaw.me\/2zuvNF3\">National League teams&#8217; drafts<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/klaw.me\/2B3YGrY\">American League teams&#8217; drafts<\/a> in two\nseparate files. I also wrote up <a href=\"https:\/\/klaw.me\/3dVfXCg\">my analysis\nof day one<\/a> on Wednesday night, and held <a href=\"https:\/\/klaw.me\/2znosqM\">a\nQ&amp;A<\/a> for subscribers on Thursday afternoon, before round two began. You can\nalso see <a href=\"https:\/\/klaw.me\/2B0I18H\">my last mock draft<\/a>, where I got\n9 of the 29 first-round picks right, as well as pick #34, and at least alerted\nyou to the possibility the Marlins would take Max Meyer over Asa Lacy at 3. My Big\nBoard, showing <a href=\"https:\/\/klaw.me\/2Y6pDDw\">the top 100 prospects in the\ndraft class<\/a>, went up last Saturday. It looks like 82 of those 100 players\nwere taken; the other 18 all appear to have priced themselves off of teams&#8217; boards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My guest on <a href=\"https:\/\/theathletic.com\/podcast\/168-the-keith-law-show\/?episode=17\">this\nweek&#8217;s episode of The Keith Law Show<\/a> was Jonathan Mayo, one of the draft experts\nat MLB Pipeline, to preview the draft. The book&nbsp;has garnered similar plaudits from major publications as a\nFather&#8217;s Day gift or for summer reading, including from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/natashawolff\/2020\/05\/27\/fathers-day-gift-guide-the-best-books\/\"><em>Forbes<\/em><\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2020\/books\/summer-reading.html#sports\"><em>The\nNew York Times<\/em><\/a>,&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/raisemagazine.com\/fathers-day-gift-ideas-2020\/\"><em>Raise<\/em><\/a>. It&#8217;s even more so during\na pandemic centered on a respiratory illness.<\/li><li>Camden, New Jersey, drove down many of its\nviolent crime rates by disbanding its police department and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.citylab.com\/equity\/2018\/01\/what-happened-to-crime-in-camden\/549542\/\">reestablishing\nit around a new model of community policing<\/a>. It&#8217;s still beset by higher violent\ncrime rates than most U.S. cities, but compared to its own history it is far\nsafer than it&#8217;s been in decades.<\/li><li>There&#8217;s another virus on the rise \u2013 eastern equine\nencephalitis (EEE), transmitted via mosquito bites, and <a href=\"https:\/\/onezero.medium.com\/a-deadly-mosquito-borne-illness-is-brewing-in-the-northeast-d3283c71c6a0?source=social---tw.onezero\">it&#8217;s\non the rise as summer looms<\/a>. EEE kills an estimated 40% of people who\ncontract it. Wear an insecticide with DEET if you&#8217;re going outside at dusk or\nat night.<\/li><li><em>New York<\/em> magazine describes what happened\nto a Maryland man who <a href=\"https:\/\/nymag.com\/intelligencer\/2020\/06\/what-its-like-to-get-doxed-for-taking-a-bike-ride.html\">was\nfalsely identified as the racist bicyclist<\/a> who attacked several kids\nposting pro-BLM fliers along a bike trail. (The actual culprit was later\nidentified and arrested.)<\/li><li>The real outrage here is a federal law, but not\nthe guy at the heart of this piece, but &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/news\/daily-comment\/a-guy-named-craig-may-soon-have-control-over-a-large-swath-of-utah\">A\nGuy Named Craig May Soon Have Control Over a Large Swath of Utah<\/a>&#8221; is a\nmagical headline.<\/li><li>A black former FBI agent writes that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/06\/08\/opinions\/black-police-fbi-racism-mcgregor\/index.html\">white\ncops didn&#8217;t see him as an equal<\/a>, often treating him more like a suspect\nthan like a federal agent.<\/li><li>A Delaware native who went to my alma mater\nwrites about his own terrifying experience of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/pulse\/you-keep-acting-like-im-going-put-hospital-luke-morgan-scott\/\">being\narrested without cause and threatened with violence by multiple white cops<\/a>.<\/li><li>The Louisville Police Department report on the\nkilling of Breonna Taylor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courier-journal.com\/story\/news\/crime\/2020\/06\/10\/breonna-taylor-shooting-louisville-police-release-incident-report\/5332915002\/\">is\nalmost entirely blank<\/a>. It&#8217;s almost as if they&#8217;re afraid of accountability.<\/li><li>Why exactly were Minnesota state troopers and\nAnoka county police officers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motherjones.com\/anti-racism-police-protest\/2020\/06\/videos-show-cops-slashing-car-tires-at-protests-in-minneapolis\/\">slashing\nthe tires on protesters&#8217; cars<\/a>? Oh, it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\/officers-slashed-tires-on-vehicles-parked-during-mpls-protests-unrest\/571105692\/\">on\nthe orders of the state&#8217;s Multiagency Command Center<\/a>. <\/li><li>The family of Maurice Gordon, a black man killed\nby a New Jersey police officer while unarmed and standing on the side of the Garden\nState Parkway, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/burlington\/2020\/06\/family-demands-answers-after-unarmed-black-man-killed-by-nj-trooper-attorney-says.html\">is\nlooking for answers to why he was shot<\/a> to death.<\/li><li>Why are black Americans dying of COVID-19 at\nmore than twice the rate of white Americans? <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.scientificamerican.com\/voices\/racism-not-genetics-explains-why-black-americans-are-dying-of-covid-19\/\">It&#8217;s\nbecause of systemic racism<\/a>, not genetics.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/coronavirus-live-updates\/2020\/06\/10\/873473805\/u-s-hits-2-million-coronavirus-cases-as-many-states-see-a-surge-of-patients\">New\ncases and hospitalizations are surging in states that are rushing to reopen<\/a>,\nincluding Arizona, Texas, and Florida, the three states MLB was supposedly\nconsidering in an earlier plan to relocate regular-season games to neutral\nsites.<\/li><li>This is only good until late on Monday, but if\nyou donate at least $5 through this link <a href=\"https:\/\/itch.io\/b\/520\/bundle-for-racial-justice-and-equality\">to the\nNAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and the Community Bail Fund<\/a> you\nget access to over 1000 indie video games contributed by their developers to\nthis charity bundle.<\/li><li>Fox News &#8220;investigative reporter&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/lara-logan-the-fox-nation-investigative-journalist-who-keeps-falling-for-antifa-hoaxes?ref=home\">Lara\nLogan keeps falling for online hoaxes<\/a> about antifa and repeating them as if\nthey&#8217;re fact. It&#8217;s a sad, puzzling decline for a once-promising reporter.<\/li><li>Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie (guess) said last\nweek that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/kentucky-rep-thomas-massie-says-he-does-not-see-articulate-people-among-george-floyd-protesters-1508825?fbclid=IwAR3UvZVKUfZrD0E1EKns0Va-z0K7fK-9Pe94kRJ9opkn87zsv65YH--guIY\">he\ndidn&#8217;t see &#8216;articulate&#8217; people among the protesters<\/a>, and dogs across the\nMidwest started howling.<\/li><li><em>Paste<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pastemagazine.com\/tv\/pushing-daisies\/pushing-daisies-streaming\/\">looks\nback at the TV show <em>Pushing Daisies<\/em><\/a>, the &#8216;perfect romance story for\na pandemic.&#8217; <em>Pushing Daisies <\/em>was one of the more notable casualties of\nthe 2007 writers&#8217; strike.<\/li><li>Steve Priest, the charismatic bass player for\nthe seminal UK glam-rock band Sweet (&#8220;Ballroom Blitz,&#8221; &#8220;Fox on\nthe Run&#8221;), passed away earlier this month. <em>Flood <\/em>looks back at <a href=\"https:\/\/floodmagazine.com\/78452\/hellraiser-10-reasons-why-steve-priest-of-the-sweet-totally-ruled\/\">ten\nof their best songs<\/a>.<\/li><li>This Instagram photo-thread, called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CAv9UpUhhlu\/?igshid=1mpz2xsj1ktp3\">The\nPassive Voice is for Cowards<\/a>, is great advice for writers <em>and<\/em> for\nreaders. The passive voice is used when you don&#8217;t want to call out the actors\nin question \u2013 as I did there, when I should have said &#8220;cowardly writers\nuse the passive voice when\u2026&#8221; Mistakes were not made.
