I\u2019ll also have a scouting notebook up shortly on the Giants-Rangers Breakout game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And now, the links\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Longreads first: <em>WIRED<\/em> has the most comprehensive look so far <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/elon-musk-digital-coup-doge-data-ai\/\">at the \u201cdigital coup\u201d being staged by Elon Musk and his DOGE toadies<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A doctor at Brown Medicine went to Lebanon to visit her family, and on her return, she was \u2013 and still is being \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.providencejournal.com\/story\/news\/local\/2025\/03\/14\/brown-medicine-doctor-told-shes-being-deported-after-trip-to-lebanon\/82418182007\/\">held at Logan Airport for deportation<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <em>Atlantic<\/em>\u2019s Tom Bartlett spoke to the Mennonite father <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/health\/archive\/2025\/03\/texas-measles-outbreak-death-family\/681985\/\">whose six-year-old daughter died of the vaccine-preventable disease known as the measles<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A website with AI-generated content accused a scholar at Yale of having connections to a terrorist group, without evidence or any apparent involvement from a human writer or editor. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/03\/12\/us\/yale-suspends-scholar-terrorism.html\">Yale suspended her anyway<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two professors at my alma mater argued in <em>The Harvard Crimson<\/em> that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecrimson.com\/article\/2025\/3\/6\/enos-levitsky-harvard-trump-democracy-fight\/\">it is time for the university to stand up against the Trump regime<\/a>, and then wrote a similar piece <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecrimson.com\/article\/2025\/3\/14\/enos-levitsky-harvard-columbia-trump\/\">on Columbia\u2019s capitulation and Harvard\u2019s continued silence<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>More Harvard news: former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett spoke at Harvard Business School and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecrimson.com\/article\/2025\/3\/10\/naftali-bennett-hbs-talk\/\">joked that he\u2019d give pagers to people protesting the war on Gaza<\/a>, a reference to the Israeli government\u2019s murder of several dozen people in Lebanon via exploding pagers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rep. Keith Self (R-TX) deliberately misgendered my Representative, Sarah McBride (D-DE), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.erininthemorning.com\/p\/have-you-no-decency-republican-calls\">leading her to refer to him as \u201cMadam Chair\u201d and for ranking Democrat Bill Keating (MA) to actually stand up for her<\/a>, something Democrats have barely bothered to do since Republicans started their attacks on her.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Robert Morris, a megachurch pastor in Texas who was a \u201cspiritual advisor\u201d to Donald Trump, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2025\/03\/12\/robert-morris-texas-megachurch-indicted-sexual-abuse\/\">indicted in Oklahoma on five counts of lewd and indecent acts with a child<\/a>. He was a major force behind Texas\u2019s bill banning trans people from using the correct bathrooms, arguing that it would \u2013 get the irony \u2013 protect children from sexual abuse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Armenia and Azerbaijan might be ready <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/armenia-says-it-is-ready-sign-peace-agreement-with-azerbaijan-2025-03-13\/\">to sign a peace agreement<\/a> that would end nearly 30 years of hostilities between the two neighboring nations, both former USSR Republics. Azerbaijan took control of the Armenian exclave of Nagorno-Karabakh in the fall of 2023, but the two share a complicated border; Armenia separates Azerbaijan proper from its constituent republic Nakhchivan, and there are several tiny exclaves along the shared border between Armenia and Azerbaijan proper.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sarah Spain, my former colleague at ESPN, <a href=\"https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/podcasts\/sarah-spain-good-game-social-impact-award.html\">was honored for her efforts to promote gender equity in sports coverage<\/a>. I admit I hadn\u2019t heard of the award before and don\u2019t know anything about it, but Sarah has worked very diligently for a very long time in an industry that remains male-dominated and just generally allergic to change, all in the name of promoting women\u2019s voices. She deserves the accolades.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A Seattle chef and Top Chef contestant announced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/life\/food-drink\/why-seattle-top-chef-shota-nakajima-is-closing-his-last-restaurant\/\">he\u2019s closing his last restaurant<\/a>, Taku, citing his other non-restaurant obligations, including appearances on Food Network\u2019s Tournament of Champions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bernd das Brot is a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/bernd-das-brot-germany-582397aa7e741b56f0228feeece35a0d\">depressed loaf of bread<\/a>\u201d that appears on a German kids\u2019 TV show and has developed a cult following over the last 25 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Three board game Kickstarters to highlight this week. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/c\/projects\/solis-game-studio\/space-lion-duel?\">Space Lion 2<\/a> is a standalone version of last year\u2019s Space Lion that\u2019s specifically designed for two-player games. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.backerkit.com\/c\/projects\/brother-ming-games\/pond-frog-mayhem\">POND<\/a> is a deckbuilder with area control elements that the designer says was inspired by Root.
