So you may have noticed some problems on the site today – a corrupted database was at fault, and right now, the last five weeks of posts and comments are gone, and I can see that a good chunk of comments from before that are toast as well because the backup file was partly corrupted too. I can restore some, if not all, of the posts, but the comments are probably gone. C’est la Web 2.0, I guess.
If there’s something you know I posted since 10/30 that you want to see restored, leave a comment on this thread. You may also want to ignore some of what shows up in your RSS reader for the next day or so.
If possible, please re-post the Top 10 Board Games. Thanks.
i wrote a comment to the “soaking beans” post shortly before the crash so if you think that it was my fault then you can punch me in the stomach. i wrote about your ESPN chat on 12-4-08. you mentioned that you “tented” foil over your turkey breast so as to slow down the cooking of the white meat. is this loosely laid over the top of the breast or wrapped securely around the breast portion? is this in reference to smoked turkey, baked, or both? the last time i smoked one the dark meat did not get done while the breast was at 165 degrees. would the foil practice prevent such occurrences? can you recommend a temp at which to cover the breast? for bonus points, id love to hear some breakout candidates for 2009 – you have to make up for your call on weeks last season. thanks for your time.
Keith,
I saw you mentioned “white noise” in your chat the other day and was wondering if that was in reference to Don DeLillo’s novel (which I didn’t really like).
Also, I would recommend Everything is Illuminated for you to read. That’s all I’m going to say so I don’t give anything away.
H: Done.
Aaron: Nope, haven’t read White Noise. Not really planning to.
Cory: Loosely laid over it during roasting. Have not smoked a turkey. Breakout candidates will have to wait for an ESPN column in the spring.
Could you re-place my blog in your reader blogs section? Thanks.
It’ll be sad not seeing that beautiful turkey anymore when I flip to the dish…
