My wife has Dancing With the Stars on, and Def Leppard is performing “live” in their studios … except this is clearly the original recording of “Pour Some Sugar on Me” from Hysteria. I’m not shocked that Joe Elliott can’t hit the same high notes he could 20 years ago, but I’d be shocked if a single microphone back there was on. This is Ashlee Simpson territory – all we need is for Elliott to make some rambling, breathless apology as the show is ending. As my wife said, “If you’re not going to actually play it, why come on the show?” Good question.

Is Joe wearing the Union Jack tee with the sleeves cut off? Don’t make me wait for the west coast feed to watch this show for the first time.
and another thing….
Are they dancing to Def Leppard?
Is it me, or did it seem like everyone on the panel was teaming up against Will Leitch on Costas Now?
To cash in on appearances in future Rock Band or Guitar Hero releases?
Keith, do you often have disagreements with your wife over what to watch on TV like, say, Bill Simmons and the Sports Gal? Do you ever use that “I need to watch this for work” line that the Sports Guy seems to use a bunch?
It IS about the money, stupid.
Keith,
You don’t have to lie to us. We’re your friends. We know it was you and not your wife who was watching Dancing with the Stars.
Julianne Hough was already eliminated. I have no reason to watch the show now.
There’s still a reason to watch that show: Edyta Sliwinska. Just DVR it and skip to her segment of the show. It’s always worth the time.
I saw Leppard live a couple of years ago, and yeah, that was totally a lip-sync of “Pour Some Sugar on Me.”
In fairness to Lep, they also appeared on Ellen yesterday morning, and sang “Hysteria” for real. Yeah, Joe’s voice isn’t as high or as smooth as it once was.
And, of course, their latest album came out yesterday, hence the appearances on both shows.
straight cash, homey! and i concur with keith (not sure if its you or someone else named keith): dwts sans julianne hough = does not get my dvr space.
