What’s it like sitting alone, listening to audio from an earpiece, and talking to a camera? There’s a great scene in “The Contender” that gives you a feel of what it’s like — and it seemed pretty awkward.
By the way, what’s up with the rude cut-off you got?
I believe the show was out of time. Unfortunately, an assistant producer is supposed to come on the line into my ear and tell me to “wrap,” usually saying just that one word. No one warned me today, so I assumed we were fine. I have no idea what happened afterwards, but I wouldn’t want to be the person who forgot to tell me to wrap it up.
Keith,
Saw the Hotlist clip on the web. Any speculation as the dollar amount it would cost to acquire Bonds for the season? I would think that 4-6 million range would make sense for both sides.
Hey Keith, this is off topic, but I missed your last chat on the four letter (my first child and future Cincinnati Reds lefty SP was being born). Anyways…two questions. Am I crazy, but did Rivsy make a great move by acquiring Fogg for 1 mil to help let the young pitchers progress on their own schedule? Two, did Rivsy steal Matt Maloney from the Phils last year for Kyle Lohse? The kid is impressing down in ST.
Thanks!
I’m dreaming of a Bonds that can play LF, and a regime in Cleveland that isn’t too conservative to bring him in.
Seriously, Mark Shapiro…an 8 million year old Barry Bonds, or Jason Michaels in his prime? I don’t know about you, but it seems like a pretty easy decision.
It’s CC’s final season with the Tribe…how about dropping a 170 OPS+ in the middle of the lineup for nothing but money, and on a one-year commitment?
Paul – not sure. My guess is that the price is falling rapidly, but he’ll be able to make pretty good coin if he goes to Japan, so maybe it’ll never get as low as $5 million.
Josh – Maloney’s a middle reliever, not a steal, just a reasonable return for a deadline deal. Fogg was a good pickup – I’m not a huge fan, but $1 million for a guy with a chance to be a league-average starter is a bargain.
Where can I view clips of the hotlist online?
Man, Adam Lind was already contending with Stairs and Johnson and then they bring in Shannon Stewart? Huh?
